Ellen L. Jensen, age 75, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at The Waterford at Wisconsin Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 6900 Swedish Rd., Wisconsin Rapids, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Dennis Olson will officiate, and burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville. Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville is assisting the family.
Ellen was born on May 29, 1949, in Park Falls, Wisconsin, to Elmer and Martha (Schwartz) Liebelt. She attended school in Park Falls and was a graduate of Sparta High School. After high school she attended and graduated from secretarial school in Minnesota and was employed at Marshfield Clinic. She then worked for many years at Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids until her retirement in 2009.
Ellen was united in marriage to Jerry Jensen on May 8, 1976, in Pittsville. The following year they moved to their current home in the Town of Sigel raising their family where Ellen enjoyed living in the quiet solitude of the country. She and Jerry enjoyed traveling around the country in their 5th wheel visiting historical places. Ellen also enjoyed singing in the church choir, sewing, knitting, cross stitch, vegetable and flower gardens and just being outdoors.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jerry and their children, Brian Jensen of Wisconsin Rapids and Beth Jensen of Waunakee. She is also survived by a granddaughter and two great grandchildren, Brittney (Kyle) Jensen and their children, Savannah and Jackson of Marshfield. She is further survived by a brother, Oscar (Connie) Liebelt of Sparta
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Liebelt, Sr.
