Obituary for Emma Macha

Emma L. Macha, 86, Stevens Point, formerly Pittsville, passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the Wellington Place in Stevens Point.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville. Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville is assisting the family.

Emma was born February 11, 1936 in the township of Dexter to William F. Braun and Lenore L. (Herzberg) Braun. She was baptized May 24, 1936 by Robert B. O’Neill and confirmed at Veedum Moravian Church. She received her education in the Veedum grade school and graduated from Pittsville High School in 1953. She married Donald F. Macha, Sr. on February 20, 1954 at the Veedum Moravian Church. She worked in the Pittsville School system and retired in 1997. She lived in the Pittsville area all her life. She enjoyed family, church, traveling, reading, and gardening.

She was a member of the Veedum Moravian Church and its Women’s Fellowship and a member of the Modern Woodmen of America White Birch Camp No. 3160.

She is survived by her two daughters, Donna Stanczyk (Robin Lipski) of Stevens Point and Beth Macha (Art Hanson) of Green Bay. Grandchildren, Brad (Laurie) Jakusz of Amherst and Nicole (Larry) Johnson of Stevens Point; Erin, Meghan, Robin Jr., and Matthew. Great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Austin (Kassidy), Christian, Traeton, Caden, Gradin, and Adalin. Great-great-grandchildren Hayden, Vianna, and Malina. She is further survived by nieces and nephews and her family at The Wellington Place.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a stillborn child, her son, Donald Macha Jr., brother, Robert Braun, and sister, Irene Schloesser.

The family would like to thank Wellington Place at Whiting and Compassus Hospice Team for their care, love and support during her time there.
