Eugene was born on June 17, 1934 in Blenker to Alois and Agnes (Brock) Wilhelm. He worked at Wisconsin Gas Company and Trierweiler Construction.

He enjoyed racing his #12 stockcar on local tracks (in his early years), watching NASCAR, his early morning trips to the coffee shops, walks through the park, and trips to the casino. He enjoyed driving so you never knew where his trips would take him.  He was a proud heavy equipment operator and was recently recognized for 50 years of membership in Operating Engineers Local 139. His quick sense of humor always brought a smile to your face. He was always happy to help others.

He is survived by his life partner Helen Salzwedel, daughter Michelle (Jim) Alt of Rudolph, son Mark Wilhelm of Marshfield, grandchildren Jessica (Jon) Fritz of Hewitt and Kris Williams of Linden, MI, great grandson Zac Olsen of Granton, and many relatives and friends.

He is further survived by his siblings Marie (Leon) Schneider and Alois Wilhelm Jr., both of Marshfield, Joyce (Dave) Haag of DeForest and Shirley (Jim) Reel of Wausau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Patricia Mancl who passed away on August 25, 1983, and brothers, Raymond, Richard, Vincent, Norman, and Sylvester Wilhelm.

Memorials will be designated at a later date.

Condolences may be sent online at www.rembsfh.com.
