Evelyn E. Wojcik, age 88, Arpin, passed away surrounded by family singing “How Great Thou Art”, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at Stoney River Memory Care, Marshfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 on Monday, February 3, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale, where a gathering for family and friends will be from 9:00 am until service time. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Rev. Charles Stoetzel will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Evelyn was born on February 14, 1936, in Marshfield, to Elmer and Emma (Bloomer) Baltus and was a 1954 graduate of Pittsville High School. She married Harold Kieffer on October 18, 1955, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bakerville. She later married Robert Wojcik on October 10, 1992, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale.
Evelyn had been a member of the former St. Francis Catholic Church Altar Society, Arpin, and St. Theresa’s Circle at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale. She loved to cook, bake, crochet, sew, knit, and quilt. She also loved being with her family and learning about her ancestors.
She is survived by her husband, Bob, and her children, Erv (Dixie) Kieffer of Pittsville, Kathy Kieffer of Tomah, Sandra (Joseph) Statz of Eau Claire, and Charles (Sapphire) Kieffer of Shenghen, China, stepchildren, Dawn (Jeff) Brock of Loyal, Steve (Ellen) Wojcik, Dale (Deb) Wojcik, all of Marshfield, and Glen Wojcik of Wisconsin Rapids. She is further survived by two grandchildren, six step grandchildren, five great grandchildren, eight step great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a great grandchild, her stepmother, Elizabeth Hutter, eight brothers, Sylvester, Kenneth, Arnold, Reuben, Lyle, Floyd, Jim, and Orville Baltus, and a sister, Dorothy Halbreiter.
