Gary J. Zieher, 69, Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 19, 2023, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where there will be a visitation from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Mark Krueger will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, at a later date and military rites will be conducted at the funeral home, following the service.

Gary was born on December 25, 1953, in Marshfield, to Harold and Dona (Erickson) Zieher. He was a 1972 graduate of Auburndale High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from September 12, 1972, until his honorable discharge on September 11, 1975. He married Debra A. Green on December 12, 1981, at Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield.

Gary was employed at Weyerhaeuser Company and then St. Joseph’s Hospital, both in Marshfield.

As a child, Gary enjoyed being a boy scout and in his younger years hunting. Later, he enjoyed his motorcycle, woodworking, garage sales, bird watching, and listening to music, especially classic rock.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie, his mother, Dona of Marshfield and his sisters, Cindy (Richard) Weiler of Vesper, Debbie (Alan) Haupt of Arpin, Jackie Williams of Auburndale, Cheryl (Russell) Altman of Arpin and Tara (Jade) Tryba of Plover. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Betty Hall, and in-laws, Sally Green, David Green, Richard Green, Steven Green, and Trace Hall.

He was predeceased by his father, Harold Zieher, stepfather-in-law, Oliver Hall, father-in-law, Richard Green, and brother-in-law, Kevin Williams.
