Gregory E. Haupt

Gregory E. Haupt, 67, Auburndale, passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021, at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Auburndale with Rev. Murali Anand Rayappan officiating. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Town of Sherry, Wood County, at a later date, and serving as pallbearers will be his goddaughter, Erin Hughes, godson, Marcus Seevers, niece and nephew, Jared Reigel and Jessa Reigel, and friends, Nate Borchardt, Ron Schill, and Mike Lieble. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, June 7th at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, and from 9:00 am until service time on Tuesday at the church.

Greg was born on August 28, 1953, in Marshfield to Edward and Sally (Bassuener) Haupt.

Greg graduated from Auburndale High School in 1971 and went on to get his Associate’s Degree in Instrumentation from Mid-State Technical College in Wisconsin Rapids.

Greg was the co-owner, well driller, and pump installer at Haupt Well and Pump Co. in Auburndale, WI. He worked at Haupt Well nearly his whole life. He was well versed in the trade and thoroughly enjoyed the work he did.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Nikolai on September 20, 1980, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield, WI.

Greg was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed spending time in the woods with his family. He was also a model train enthusiast. He loved working on projects around the house. Greg had a steadfast faith and was active in the Catholic Church. He was a Packers, Badgers, and Brewers fan. He enjoyed listening to and watching games with his wife, especially outside on their patio. He enjoyed having bonfires with his family and friends. Most of all, Greg was the most loving husband, best dad, and a selfless, generous friend. He loved spending time with his kids and he was very excited to be a Grandpa.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, daughter, Katie (Maria) Haupt, son, Jacob Haupt, one grandson on the way, Leo Edward Haupt, and dog, Frankie. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Cathy (Dennis) Seevers of Sherry, Chris (Pat) Thayer of Eau Claire, Kim (Rick) Hughes of Byron, IL, Mark (Sue) Haupt of Goodyear, AZ and Alan (Debra) Haupt of Arpin. He is further survived by Joyce’s brothers and sisters, Jean (Cliff) Eggett, Betty Nikolai (Tom), Jim (Pam) Nikolai, Karen (Harry) Gordee, Kris (Pat) Martin, John (Anne) Nikolai, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
