Obituary for Herman Kaufman

Herman H. Kaufman, 93, Mosinee, passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at his home surrounded by family.

A private memorial service will be held, and burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Herman was born on June 27, 1928 in Marshfield to Victor and Margaret (Brandl) Kaufmann. He graduated from Marshfield Senior High School. On June 23, 1951, he was united in marriage to Arlene Koenig at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield.

Herman was part owner of Mitten’s Furniture Appliances and Electronics, and he worked there for 47 years. He was also one of the original founders of Superior Gas Service, Inc.

Herman enjoyed many activities; including snowmobiling for 50 years, camping, square dancing and pontoon rides on the Eau Pleine flowage. He traveled to every state in the United States and enjoyed various Caribbean cruises. Herman was a member of the Eagles Club, Knights of Columbus, Elks, Bakerville SnoRovers, Green Valley Stump Jumpers, Emmet SnoDrifters, and Eau Pleine Riders.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Arlene, children; Chuck (Marie) Kaufman of Hatfield, Cindy (Paul Paulson) Kaufman of Coon Rapids, MN, Clarissa (Jim) Busch of Cuba City, and Chad (Stacy) Kaufman of Mosinee; grandchildren, Kurt (Jodi), Kerry (Brad) Lenz, Kyler, Jenna (Kyle Kafer); great grandchildren, Vivian, Cashton, Mia Lenz, Joey Kaufman, Aaron Rogan (Becky Heinrich); and great great grandson, McCoy Rogan.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Tremelling.
