James L. Irwin, 78, Pittsville, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021 at his home under the loving care of his wife and family and St. Croix Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Buchanan / Rembs Funeral Home in Pittsville, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. David Bratlie will officiate. Burial will follow in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Town of Richfield, Wood County, and grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
James was born on June 30, 1943 in the Town of Wood, Wood County, to Ward and Agnes (Schindler) Irwin, Sr., and attended Pittsville High School. He married Darlene S. Pease on May 16, 1964 at the Evangelical Church in the Town of Wood.
Jim was a dairy farmer his entire life. He also hauled milk for 45 years. His passion was motor cycling and he and Darlene enjoyed riding their cycles together.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Darlene and their children, Susan Peterson of Pittsville, James Irwin of Marshfield and Stacey (Raymond) Bowden of Arpin. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Jordy Parker, Nikki Keuffer, Rory Parker, Nathan Engelbright and Nikolas Engelbright and 11 great grandchildren. He is further survived by sisters, Bev (Russ) Schiller and Janet Thiel, all of Pittsville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ward Irwin and a sister, Lucille Robbins.
