James P. Fieber, 73, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at his home in the Town of Grand Rapids, Wood County.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at St. Joachim Catholic Church, Pittsville. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday at Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville and from 10:00 am until service time on Saturday at St. Joachim Catholic Church.

James was born on June 21, 1950, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Hubert and Verna (Mancil) Fieber. He was a 1968 graduate of Pittsville High School, where he participated in football, basketball and baseball. He also was a 1973 graduate of the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, where he received a bachelor’s degree in secondary education, majoring in Math. After his education he began his teaching career at West Junior High School in Wisconsin Rapids where he remained until his retirement in 2007.  In addition to teaching Mathematics, he coached basketball, baseball, and football during various years.

Jim enjoyed hunting, being in the woods, helping his brother making maple syrup, and an annual fishing trip to Canada with his teacher friends. He was an avid supporter of Pittsville and Wisconsin Rapids sports. Jim was loved by many and was a true caregiver, always making sure that they had whatever they needed.

He is survived by his siblings, Hubert (Marilyn) Fieber, Raymond Fieber and Clara Fieber, all of Pittsville and nephews, Christopher and David Fieber.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Robert Fieber.
