Obituary for Jean Fischer

Jean A. Fischer, 68, Marshfield, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Monday, November 21, 2022, at Marshfield Medical Center, following a hard-fought battle with ovarian cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield, where relatives and friends may gather from 9:00 am until service time. The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary at 9:00 am at the church. At Jean’s request please do not wear black. Rev. Douglas Robertson will officiate. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Private interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Columbarium, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Jean was born on October 12, 1954, in Marshfield, to Albert and Marie (Maurer) Jensen. She was a graduate of Marshfield Senior High School and then Mid State Technical School. She was united in marriage to Richard A. Fischer on March 19, 1977, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield.

Jean had been employed as a pharmacy technician at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield for 40 years. She then owned and operated her own stamp and scrapbooking store.

Jean and Rich showed draft horses and participated in wagon trains, circus parades and horse shows. She enjoyed traveling throughout the country, especially to Florida, camping in Tomahawk and attending her grandchildren’s events.

Jean was a member of the Lady Knights and Catholic Financial Life.

She is survived by her husband, Rich and their children, Travis (Ashley) Fischer of Granton and Ronael (Ryan) Schneeberger of West Bend. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Anna, Alex and Aiden Schneeberger. She is further survived by her brothers, Ralph (Judith) Jensen of St. Louis, Dick Jensen of Marshfield, and Robert (Donna) Jensen of Sun Prairie and a sister-in-law Joan (Jim) Zoellner. She will be missed by her beloved dog, Billie.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Victor Jensen.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Yaboa and the oncology team at Marshfield Clinic and the staff on the eighth floor and fourth floor Palliative care, especially RN Laura and CNA Sawyer.

Memorials may be designated to M.A.P.S. (Marshfield Area Pet Shelter) or the Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance.
