Jean Sophie (Krings) Moen “Jeanie Bird” passed away peacefully in her sleep March 15, 2020.

The Lord put his loving arms around her and whispered, “Come with me, you will suffer no more”.

Jean was born September 23, 1939 in Auburndale, WI to Alfred and Edith (Klieve) Krings. She married Richard Moen on August 3, 1963. Upon graduating high school, she worked at the Auburndale State Bank until retirement, taking time off to be a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. She was also the bookkeeper for Dick’s Auto, her husband’s business.

She was a dedicated wife and amazing mother and shared her strong faith with those she loved. She enjoyed flying to Florida with her husband “Dickie Bird” piloting their small plane, spending time at their home in FL with their many friends in the winter months. Jean was very social and made friends everywhere she went. She also enjoyed watching the birds with her dog Shortie and was an avid gardener.

Jean is survived by her husband, Richard, and their four children, Bruce Moen, Sandi (Tim) Burkholder, Shelli (Brian) Welch, and Shane (Yvonne) Moen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Benjamin Moen and Christian Schwanebeck, Nicole and Tyler Burkholder, Cassidy and Carissa Welch, Shawna and Heidi Moen, Dylan and Brooke Zimmermann, and great-grandchildren Kolton and Brantley Zimmermann.

Jean and Richard are long-time members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Marshfield.

The family wishes to give a special thanks to the many healthcare professionals who lovingly cared for Jean over the years.

A celebration of Jeanie Bird’s life will be held at a later date.
