Jeffrey “Jake” John Thomas, age 59, of Arpin, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 31st, 2019 at House of Dove in Marshfield surrounded by his family. A memorial service will be held at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, 1010 East Veterans Parkway, Marshfield on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Mark Krueger officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Thursday.
Jake was born December 11, 1959, the son of Arden and Margery (Laukenman) Thomas in Menomonee Falls, WI. He graduated from Auburndale High School in 1977. After graduation, he was employed at The Arpin Dairy. In 1980 he began working at Kerry in Vesper, WI where many coworkers became great friends. On July 11th, 1981 Jake was united in marriage to the love of his life, Nancy Rosplock, at Trinity Lutheran church in Vesper, WI.
In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and playing pool. He especially enjoyed spending quality time in the North woods with family & friends. Those that knew Jake best will miss his laughter, quirky grins, helping hand, and his love of a cold Point Beer. Jake, and all his endless tall tales, will truly be missed.
Jake is lovingly survived by his wife: Nancy Thomas; children: Jeannie (Cory) Steczynski of Arpin; Dustin Thomas (Mollie White) of Vesper; grandsons: Kyle, Joshua, Dawson Steczynski of Arpin; siblings: Hank (Patty) Thomas of Phillips, Margery (Andy) Hogan of Rudolph, and Fred Thomas of Vesper. He is further survived by in-law’s: Darlene Thomas, and Vicky Thomas; Mother-in-law: Elaine Rosplock; Kathy (Jim) Nieman, Sandy Hall, George Rosplock, Cheryl Otto, Judy (David) Cournoyer, Rick (Holly) Rosplock, Ron Rosplock, Greg (Paula) Rosplock, Amy Kehrberg, and several Nieces and Nephews.
Jake is preceded in death by his parents: Arden and Margery Thomas as well as siblings: John, Donald, Arden Jr. and James Thomas; Father-in-law: George Rosplock Sr; Elaine’s special friend Don Mould, In-law’s: Pam Rosplock, Roger Otto; and two nephews.
