John Goch, 96, Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Marshfield Medical Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 12:00 pm until service time. Rev. Keith Kitzhaber will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
John was born on October 18, 1923 in Zamosc, Poland, to Joseph and Rozalia (Kozack) Goch. He married Elsa A. Schlotter on January 17, 1950 in Weingarten, Germany.
John was a hardworking cheesemaker and enjoyed the outdoors and riding his moped. He loved listening to polka music and spending time with his family, friends and all the family pets. He had a strong faith and worked hard to provide for his family. Caring and loving God and his family meant everything to John.
He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Elsa and their children, Mary (Wendell) Holt of Minocqua, Fred Goch of Huntsville, Alabama and Elisa (Shane) Hansen of Marshfield. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, John (Leslie) Holt, Alison (Anthony) Komarek, Joshua (Lindsey) Goch, Jessica (Tyler) Blevins, Jessie Hansen and Brianna Hansen and 3 great grandchildren, twins, Logan and Madison Komarek and Jackson Holt.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter in infancy, 2 brothers and a sister.
