Julia E. Kumm

Julia E. Kumm, 93, of Pittsville, passed away on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at Wells Nature View on East 21st Street in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 5, 2021, at Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home where visitation will be from 4:00 pm until service time. Julia’s daughter, Rev. Janet Conley, will officiate. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery in Pittsville and her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Julia was born on June 6, 1928, to Jacob and Anna (Suhr) Steidl. She graduated from Pittsville High School in 1946. On April 20, 1948, Julia was married to Elmer Kumm. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1998. They dairy farmed from 1948 to 1992 and then sold their farm, moving to the city of Pittsville. He passed away on August 24, 2000.

Julia enjoyed quilting and doing puzzles, but she was best known for her fabulous blonde brownies and famous taco salad. She was also a member of the St. Joachim PCCW.

She is survived by her 9 children, Rita (Kenny) Jakobi, Lee (Linda) Kumm, Janet (Bayles) Conley, Earl (Karlette) Kumm, Glen (Peggy) Kumm, Linda (Randy) Fochs, Lyle (Lori) Kumm, Marilyn (Chris) Mossberg, and Rick Kumm, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is further survived by her brother, Eugene Steidl, and sister, Leona Leis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer, daughter, Fern, grandsons, Tommy Jakobi, Brad Kumm, and Jake Fochs, great-granddaughter, Sherokee Kumm, brothers, Walter, Jerry, and Richard Steidl, and sister, Hellen Steidl.
