Kenneth Marvin Post age 82 of Marshfield WI passed away on October 31,2024. Anyone who knew him would agree that it was a fitting day to be called Home.
He was born on October 27, 1942 in Athens WI to Walter and Louise (Stahnke) Post.
Ken graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in 1961. While in high school he played Varsity Baseball which was his lifelong passion. He also began working as a mechanic at Berg Pontiac while in high school. Ken retired as a Machinist at Carquest. (Advanced Auto Parts) His reliability, dedication and strong work ethic was witnessed by many.
His favorite job title was “Grandpa”.
On September 3, 1965 he married the love of his life. They were blessed with 59 wonderful years together.
In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and just walking in the woods. Him and Annie enjoyed camping with family and friends.
He enjoyed his grandkids the most and being able to watch them grow up. Him and Annie also watched their great nieces and nephews, which will leave us with wonderful loving memories.
Ken was a lifelong member of Faith Lutheran Church in Marshfield.
Ken is survived by his wife Anna “Annie”, daughter Kimberly (Jerry) Lyon, son Kurt (Wendy) Post and Grandchildren Joel, Craig and Anna Lyon, Lukas, Jackson and Whyatt Post.
He is survived by his brothers: Ron (Sandy) Post, Bobby (Gloria) Post, Bobby was also Ken’s lifelong best friend, Dick (Sheila) Post, Larry (Vicky) Post, Jim (Rita) Post, and Dennis (Linda) Post, a sister Bonnie (Jerry) Howard along with many nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by Ann’s siblings: Helen (Mark) Toelle, Matt (Gloria) Strupp, Sharon (Bob) Schreiner, Dave (Barb) Strupp, Nub (Tammy) Strupp, Kathy (Al) Seehafer, Shirley (Mark) Sampson, Rose (Tom) Esser, Dawn (David) Buse and a brother in law Pat Wisneski.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his in laws, Lawrence and Helen (Kohlbeck) Strupp, sisters Emilie Chesmore and Beverly Post (in infancy). A sister in law Dolores (Strupp) Wisneski, a niece Marcy (Chesmore) Schneider, and nephews Scott Schreiner and Jason Strupp.
As we remember Ken we celebrate a life well lived, defined by hard work, love and cherished moments. His legacy lives on through memories shared by those who knew and loved him. Ken will be dearly missed but will remain forever in our hearts.
Next time you put a piece of hard candy in your mouth such as a cinnamon disc, butterscotch or root beer barrel, think of him as he always had one to share.
Per Ken’s wishes there will be no funeral service.
Memorials may be designated to the House of The Dove, Ronald McDonald House or Children’s Miracle Network.
The family would like to thank the staff in Palliative Care at the Marshfield Medical Center, and the staff at The House of Dove, for their kind, and compassionate care Ken received.
