Leonora L. “Nona” Leffel, 96, Stratford, passed away with her family at her side on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Vita Care Assisted Living, Stratford.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Ebenezer United Church of Christ, Town of Cleveland, Marathon County, with Rev. Terry Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford and from 10:00 am until service time on Thursday at Ebenezer United Church of Christ.
Leonora was born on September 17, 1926, in the Town of Cleveland, to Herman and Lida (Hagen) Hoffman and attended Stratford High School. She was united in marriage to Elmer A. “Stub” Leffel on February 2, 1946, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He died on January 28, 2003.
Nona farmed with her husband Elmer all her life. She was an active member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ, being involved with ladies aid and the church board. She also was very active in her great grandchildren’s lives. She was a joker and loved to make people laugh and smile. She was a sweetheart to all and a ray of sunshine through the darkest clouds.
She is survived by her sons, Terry (Bonnie) Leffel, and Dale Leffel, all of Stratford. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Tracy (Steve) Weber, Tina (Michael) Pawlowski, Stacy Leffel, Corina Dickmann, Melissa (Andy) Dunham and Eric Leffel. She is further survived by 13 great grandchildren, Victoria Bastman, Samantha (Cody) Bauer, Bridget Bastman, Tyler Bastman, Amber Johnson, Joshua (fiance – Brittani Alcorn) Johnson, Bailey Pawlowski, Jesse Dickmann, Carlee Leffel, Hunter Leffel. Collin Leffel, Emma Dunham, and Leonora Dunham and 13 great great grandchildren, Adeline Harrison, Wyatt Bauer, Aiden Bauer, Nora Bauer, Jayce Petrie, Shane Petrie, Raiden Petrie, Shao Kahn Petrie, Orion Johnson, Case Johnson, Mavrick Johnson, Raelynn Johnson and Phoebe Dickmann.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings, Hermina Johnson, Elmer Hoffman, Henry Hoffman, Clarence Hoffman, Lorinda Rayner, Harold Hoffman, Mabel Eake, Arnold Hoffman, Lorraine Zasada, Herman Hoffman, Arleen Christopherson, and Lyle Hoffman.
