Loretta M. Aschenbrenner, 99, Rudolph, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at her home.

A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, April 12, 2021, at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church, Blenker, with Rev. Murali Anand Rayappan and Rev. David Brunner officiating. The service will be live-streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will be in the parish cemetery and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday at Martens / Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City, and on Monday from 10:00 am until service time at St. Kilian’s Church.

Loretta was born on September 26, 1921, in Auburndale, to Peter and Monica (Altmann) Aschenbrenner and was a 1939 graduate of Auburndale High School. She was united in marriage to Edward H. Aschenbrenner on June 7, 1944, at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church, Blenker. He died on April 11, 2004.

Loretta enjoyed farming with her husband in the town of Milladore. Upon retirement, they moved to their Lake Dubay home in the town of Knowlton. Loretta later moved to the Village of Rudolph.

Faith was very important to Loretta. She was a member of St. Kilian’s Catholic Church and St. Kilian’s Women’s Group.  She also enjoyed belonging to the Blenker Homemakers.  Loretta had many interests in her life including cooking, baking, her specialty was chocolate chip cookies, traveling, reading, and gambling, but her favorite thing to do was spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Jerald (Judy) Aschenbrenner of Marshfield and their children, Brian (Dori) Aschenbrenner and Eric (Laura) Aschenbrenner; Carol (Joe) Haupt of Rudolph and their children, Patti (Paul) Bastian and Stacey (David) Krahn; Mary (Pat) Ledden of Auburndale and their children, Christopher (Lora) Ledden, Shelly (Steve) Becker, Allison (Travis) Karl and Neil (Katie) Ledden; Joan (Tom) Freidel of Wisconsin Rapids and their children, Scott (Taylor Gillenwater) Freidel and Leah (Jay Burditt) Freidel; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, grandchildren Keith Aschenbrenner and Keri Ledden, four brothers and five sisters.

The family would like to thank Bing Thurman, Loretta’s loving caregiver who took tremendous care of mom.  Also thank you to the staff of Ascension Hospice and especially Kathleen and Jessica.

A memorial will be designated in Loretta’s name at a later date.
