Lorraine Schar, 97, Marshfield, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at House of the Dove in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at St. John’s Catholic Church, with Rev. James Weighner officiating. The service will be live-streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery. The visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday at Rembs Funeral Home and from 9:30 am until service time on Wednesday at church.
Lorraine was born on February 23, 1924, in Marshfield, Wisconsin to William and Anna Eckes.
She married Wesley Schar on September 25, 1943, at St. John the Baptist Church in Marshfield. Lorraine and Wesley were faithful parishioners all their lives. Lorraine worked at Johnson Hills Department Store and was a seamstress for Bea’s Bridal Shop in Marshfield.
She enjoyed camping and fishing with her family. She also liked to finish ceramics and sew for her family and others. She made many friends at bingo centers. She loved to cook, bake, and spend time with her family.
Lorraine is survived by her children Arthur (Sharon) Schar of Marshfield, Shirley (Mike) Dupee of Arpin, Thomas (Sue) Schar of Marshfield, Cheryl Ann (Tom) Casper of Wisconsin Rapids, Terry (Sally) Schar of Tony, Michael (Peggy) Schar of Arpin, Wayne (Debbie) Schar of Marshfield, Cynthia (Rick) Rennhack of Marshfield, and a daughter-in-law Deb (Berg) Schar. She is further survived by 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Wesley, her parents William and Anna, her son Patrick Schar, a grandson Benjamin Schar, and her siblings Herbert Eckes, Florelda (Kraemer), Arthur Eckes, Genevieve (Murphy), Clara (Perry), Clemence Eckes, Blandina Eckes, Lorrette Junneman, and Orin Eckes.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother, and will surely be missed.
