Obituary for Mabel Schreindl

Mabel V. Schreindl, 103, Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Marshfield Health Services.

Private family funeral services will be held at Rembs Funeral Home and the service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes

Rev. James Weighner will officiate and burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.

Mabel was born on November 11, 1918 in Boyd, Wisconsin, to Joseph and Gladys (Dygart) Brickheimer. She attended grade and high school in Athens, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to Clarence J. “Slim” Schreindl on January 10, 1942 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Athens. He died on September 23, 2004.

Mabel was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, for 27 years as a nursing assistant. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women and the Marshfield Eagles Club.  She enjoyed her flower garden and making delicious meals for her family get togethers. She enjoyed traveling and going for daily walks and was a Green Bay Packer fan. She remained living in her own home with the assistance of her children until recently.

She is survived by her children, DuWayne Schreindl of Mosinee, Diane Fischer, and Dennis Schreindl (Deb Stangl), all of Marshfield, and Gary Schreindl (Connie Klatt) of Anoka, MN. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is further survived by sisters, Joan Mader of Athens, Helen Schillinger of Wausau, Arlene Horrigan of Connecticut, and Geraldine Eder of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Darlene Plummer, a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Marguerite Schreindl, a son-in-law, Ron Fischer, brothers, Harry, Bob and Don Brickheimer and sisters, Beatrice Lesczynski, Margaret Revling, and Dolores Placek.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated.
