Margaret A. White, 82, Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Marshfield Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am until service time. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield.
Margaret was born on November 5, 1940, in Mellen, Wisconsin, to Edward and Louise (Ferrando) Marion and was a 1958 graduate of Mellen High School. She then attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, graduating in 1961. She was united in marriage to John E. White on December 2, 1961.
Margaret stayed at home to raise her children and then employed as a registered nurse at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, for 26 years, where she was known for her outstanding and compassionate care.
She was an avid reader, known to have read thousands of books in her lifetime. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul Christian Library and loved watching the birds in her back yard. Margaret was a thoughtful and caring mother and grandmother and was always eager to share her and her family’s history with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John White, Sr. of Marshfield and their children, Joseph (Mary) White of Wausau, Michael (Christine) White of Granton, John (Jenny) White, Jr. of Marshfield and Ann (Joe) Browne of Stratford. She is also survived by grandchildren, Shannon (Stephanie) White, Seth (Asia) Browne, Cameron White, Hayden Bauman, Laura (Luis) LePard, Nina (Paul) Muszinski, Stephanie (Bob) Stenroos, Angela (Joshua) Poulos, and John (Tierra) Poulas, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is further survived by her sister friend Peg Dieterich.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother-in-law Mary White.
