Margaret J. Writz, 88, Marshfield, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021, at Wells Nature View Assisted Living, 2807 S. Apple Av.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Margaret was born on April 9, 1932, in Wausau, to Robert and Marie (Marx) Dellenbach. She attended elementary school in Poniatowski and high school in Athens. Later in life, she earned her diploma. She was united in marriage to Benjamin Writz on July 30, 1949, in Poniatowski. He died on February 6, 1978.
After their marriage, the Writz’ lived in Wausau, then at a farm in the Town of Rietbrock, and then in Marshfield. After her husbands’ death, she began working in the kitchen at Marshfield Senior High School where she worked for 25 years until her retirement in 2002.
Margaret was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, the Parish Council of Catholic Women, and the Lady Foresters. She had a love for pets, most recently her cat, Callie.
She is survived by her children, Ron (Chris) Writz of Fostoria, OH, Lee (Bev) Writz of Neillsville, Mark (Deb) Writz of Kenosha, Nancy (Steve) Trierweiler, Gayle (Mike) Fait, and Sue Writz, all of Marshfield. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Cassandra Writz, Jennifer Trueman, Corie Brandalise (Drew), Nichole (Joe) Kalinowski, Jill (Jeremy) Iwanski, Benjamin Writz (Sarah), Joe (Randi) Trierweiler, Kyle Writz, Carly Writz, Eric Fait, and Lisa Fait (Andy), and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, David Writz, and a brother, Robert Dellenbach.
