Margaret Mary Roherty, 96, of Marshfield, passed away January 28, 2024, at the House of the Dove hospice care center after a brief illness.
Born May 20, 1927, in Mellen, Wis., to Mark and Della (Boley) Ferando, Margaret grew up in Edgerton, graduating in 1945 from Edgerton High School and attended Edgewood College and the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She was married for 67 years to John Roherty, a high school classmate, who she wed Sept. 10, 1949, in Edgerton, where they lived before residing in Monroe, Appleton, Menominee (Mich.), Green Bay, Janesville and Marshfield, where they lived since 1965. John passed away Feb. 10, 2016.
After raising her family and helping keep the books at the family’s Badger State Tire Center, Margaret was employed at St. Joseph Hospital for 13 years and then as a volunteer there for 12 years.
A member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, she was a former Catholic Daughters member and with OLP’s Rosary Society.
She is survived by six sons, Mark (Laura) of Thiensville, Richard (Debra) of Marshfield, Timothy (Elizabeth) of Green Bay, Daniel (Karen) of Appleton, Michael (Geralyn) of Marshfield, and Gerald of West Bend; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Rembs Funeral Home and Crematory in Marshfield is handling burial arrangements. Memorial services will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established with the House of the Dove by Compassus in Marshfield.
