Marjorie was born on September 4, 1926 (although she always celebrated her birthday on September 5) in Marshfield to Arthur and Erma (Wagner) Scheuer. She graduated from Marshfield High School and was united in marriage to a very special man, George (Sonny) Oppman Jr., on May 3, 1949. They celebrated 55 years of marriage on May 3, 2004. George “Sonny” passed away on September 22, 2004.

She was employed at Associated Bank from 1944 until 1990 when she retired as the Assistant Vice President after working 40-plus years. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church, where she attended mass regularly, up until the last few years in which she then watched it on tv, she sang in the church choir and served as the Treasurer of Lady Knights. She was a member of the Business Professional Women for many years.

Family and Faith held significant importance in her life. Once her parents passed, being the eldest child, she wished to keep her family close; therefore, she began the tradition of Christmas brunch each year with her siblings and their growing families. She took great pride and joy seeing everyone come together during the holidays and could not have imagined it any other way. Sunday dinners were never overlooked, either. She waited for her house to fill up with family as she prepared meat, potatoes, vegetables, coleslaw, or wilted lettuce; she always had cinnamon apples cut for the grandkids and a freshly baked loaf of bread that just came out of the oven. She continued these traditions up until a few years ago. She loved canning, making jam for all her family, gardening as she loved all flowers, and scrapbooking.

Marge is survived by her six sons, Terry (Marge) Oppman, Randy (JoAnn) Oppman, Allen (Sue) Oppman, Todd (Becky) Oppman, all of Marshfield, Denny (Carol) Oppman of Springfield, VA, and Don Oppman of Modesto, CA.

She is also survived by her grandchildren: Heidi (Steve) Johnson, Sara (Mike) Pankratz, Steve (Letha) Oppman, Jeff (Val Weichelt) Oppman, Paul (Kim Martiny) Oppman, Jeff (Joan) Edwards, Annie (Nick) Schultz, A.J. Oppman, Brian (Lindsey) Oppman, Amanda (Tyler) Lucas, Ashley (Steve Banks) Zieher, Kami (Cain) Trunkel, Kole (Stacia Jacoby) Oppman; great-grandchildren: Makenna Johnson, Olivia and Brielle Pankratz, Holden and Ryder Oppman, Kinzie and Max Oppman, Valerie (Tyrone Gayles) Edwards, James and Samantha Schultz, Laila, Hayden and Landen Oppman, Kayley and Madyson Lucas, Kendyl Zieher and Carstyn Banks, Kruzz and Kapri Trunkel, and baby Oppman coming in July; great-great-grandchildren, Zariah and Alayna Gayles.

Marge is also survived by her siblings, Lucille Hein of Stratford, Carol Schultz of Rozellville, Shirley Mounce of Winona, MN, Joyce (John) Kilty of Phillips, Robert Scheuer of Marshfield, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Erma Scheuer; her husband, George (Sonny) Oppman Jr.; sisters, Mildred Scheuer and Florence Lindow, brothers Jerome and Richard Scheuer; and Daughter-in-law Marcia (Don) Oppman, Sister-in-law Kaye Scheuer and Dory Scheuer, Brother-in-law Fritz Schultz, Merlin Lindow, and Phil Hein.

The family would like to extend our most heartfelt thank you to the nurses on 8 North and all at The House of the Dove who gave the most amazing care to our Mother; we surely could not have gotten through this without all the love, your kindness, and compassionate care you gave to her and your love and support to all of us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
