Marie B. Greuel, 84, Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Marshfield Health Services.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery Columbarium at a later date.
Marie was born on March 14, 1938 in Milwaukee, to Russell and Dora (Martin) Jacobitz.
After her high school education, she attended vocational school in Milwaukee for two years.
She married Robert Greuel and they later divorced. In the fall of 1969, she and her children moved to Marshfield. While in Marshfield she was employed in home care for many years. She also worked at the Central Wisconsin State Fair.
She was a member of the Marshfield Eagles Auxiliary, and the Central Wisconsin Concertina Club. She volunteered for the Tiny Tigers in Marshfield.
Marie enjoyed crafts, gardening sewing, knitting, baking, flea markets, BINGO and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Melvin Greuel of Marshfield, Dawn (Richard) St. John of Morrisville, North Carolina, Debbie (David) Wenzel and Laura Petrone, all of Marshfield. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother Franklin (Pat) Jacobitz of Marshfield and a sister Alice (Dave) Glavin of Fairchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents Russel and Dora Jacobitz, her stepfather Ernest Kenyon, a daughter, Mary Gessert, a son Herman Greuel and her lifelong companion John Drinka.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Comforts of Home Assisted Living, Marshfield Health Services and Heartland Hospice.
