Marlene was born on January 20, 1943, in Athens, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Conrad F. and Martha (Pietrowski) Kremsreiter. She grew up on the family farm and graduated from Athens High School.
Marlene married Donald J. Guden on January 12, 1962, and moved to Marshfield, Wisconsin where they raised their three children-Sara, Sandra and Scott. Marlene was a mother, homemaker, and community volunteer, but she longed to do more. Marlene had a gift for making strangers feel like family and she was a natural at customer service and over time shared that gift with several businesses. Marlene loved to travel and to spend time with family and friends, but most of all she loved her five granddaughters.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Dale Kremsreiter. She is survived by her husband Donald and her children Sara (Thomas) Gilroy, Sandra (Steve) Franklin and Scott (Chantelle) Guden and her five granddaughters: Erin Gilroy, Lauren Gilroy, Hailey Franklin, Natalie-Anne Guden, and Emma Guden. She is also survived by her brother George Kremsreiter and her sisters Marilyn Borofka, Carol Wagner, and Linda Osimitz.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to her care givers at Care Partners Stevens Point and Aspirus Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
