Mary Ann (Young) Griswold, age 89 of Pittsville, peacefully passed on while surrounded by family at Marshfield Medical Center on July 7, 2024.

Mary Ann was born at home on July 8, 1934 in Dallas, WI and grew up in the Prairie Farm, WI area. She fell in love with Art Griswold whom she married in 1952. They lived in Pittsville, WI their whole married life, 72 years. Art and Mary Ann farmed and together raised 7 daughters. Mary Ann loved her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Mary Ann was very resourceful and self taught with many skills and talents; cooking, gardening, food preservation, carpentry, knitting, crocheting, and furniture refinishing. She sewed most of the girls clothes and many of their wedding dresses, all with an unflappable demeanor. Her creative talents were expressed in the art of painting photography portraits, cake decorating, and designing houses. Mary Ann so looked forward to and enjoyed traveling with Art internationally. Art and Mary Ann were generous with their home and hosted many gatherings of family and friends throughout the years. She took great joy in seeing their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Art Griswold, daughters Bonnie (Ron) Wibel, Kathleen (Noel) Carlson, Patty (Jon) Rieckenberg, Linda Griswold, Sharon (Rich) Kleinstick, Judy (Joe) Schiller, and Rita (Karl) Anderson, grandchildren Christina (Adam) Markham, Jennifer Topinka, Mathew (Chris) Wibel, Melanie (Adam) Marx, Erika (Dwayne) Bontrager, Trevor (Rachel) Carlson, Alyssa (Matt) Kautz, Weston (Jennifer) Rieckenberg, Tiffany Rieckenberg Savage, Ryan (Abbie) Griswold, Jacinda (Kent) Kramer, Rebecca (Justin) Hartsuiker, Brenton (Andrine) Kleinstick, Stephen (Alex) Bauch, Alexi Schiller, Cindy (Brian) Johnson, Joe Jr. (Jodie) Schiller, Eric Schiller, Megan (Carson) Blodgett, and Travis (Amaliya) Anderson, and great grandchildren Breckin and Keigan Marx, Sawyer and Eliza Wibel, Ana Bontrager, Caden and Avery Carlson, Luke, Jack, Hank and Buck Kautz, Victoria, Jack and Peter Rieckenberg, Jack and Ella Griswold, Axel, Adelynn, Gavin, Gunnar, Aric, Silas, Ryker Kramer, Aurelia and Annabelle Hartsuiker, Bentley and baby girl Kleinstick, Thomas Esslinger, Tiffany, Brandon and Alaina Schiller, Raelyn, Rory and Olivia Blodgett, and baby boy Anderson.

She is further survived by her brother Floyd (Nita) Young.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Cathleen Mary, father Orville Young, mother Alma (Sagear) Young, and brother Eugene (Laura) Young.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery, Pittsville immediately following the service.
