Obituary for Mary R. Schiller

Mary R. (Bray) Schiller, 68, of Pittsville, passed away on Tuesday, May 6th, 2020 at Marshfield Clinic Medical Center with her family by her side. There will be a celebration of life and church service at St. John’s Lutheran Church for Mary at a later date. She will also be laid to rest in the parish cemetery at a later date.

Mary was born on January 22nd, 1952 in Marshfield, WI to Shirley (Nelson) and Arthur Bray Sr. She grew up in Veedum, attending elementary school there. She then moved to Florida with her parents. Eventually, she made her way back to Pittsville and graduated from Pittsville High School. She married her husband, Melvin (Butch) Schiller, on August 29th, 1970 at St. John’s in Pittsville. This August, they would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

After getting married, Mary worked at Figi’s of Marshfield and raised her two children at home. After seeing her children through school, she went back to work at Ho-Chunk Gaming Nekoosa. She then worked for many years at Marshfield Furniture, Johnson Garment, ODC Services, and Wiskerchen Cheese of Auburndale. Most recently she retired from St. Vincent de Paul, Marshfield. She loved traveling to many places: Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale, Cancun, and California.

Mary loved spending time with her grandkids at Crockett’s Campground in Lyndon Station and taking care of her gardens each and every summer. One of her favorite activities was taking evening strolls on the golf cart through Pittsville during the summers. She also loved spending quality time with her two special cat companions, MeeMee and Molly. She also loved going to watch her grandchildren’s motocross races. She loved her grandchildren very much and cherished every moment she spent with them especially during their trips to the Wisconsin Dells every summer.

Mary is survived by her husband, Butch; children Tonya (Jim Jr.) Weinfurter and Troy (Jammie) Schiller all of Pittsville. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Jordan (Mercedes Hardwick); Derek, Derren, Dylan, and Tori Weinfurter; and Rylee Schiller all of Pittsville; and one great granddaughter: Aubree LaRae Schiller. She is further survived by one sister: Lois (Tootie) Fait of Milwaukee; two brothers: William (Charlotte) Bray of Amarillo, TX and Ron (Gena) Bray of Camarillo, CA, and two sisters-in-laws: Sarah Bray of Medford and Candi Czaikowski of Wisconsin Rapids. Mary is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Art Sr. and Shirley Bray; three brothers: Arthur Jr., Robert, and Roger Bray; one sister: Ruth Morzewski; and one brother-in-law: Erv Morzewski Sr.

The family wishes to thank the supportive staff on Marshfield Medical Center’s palliative care unit. Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home will be assisting Mary’s family.

We will miss you very much, mom, grandma, and great grandma. And, don’t worry, we’ll get through it.
