Mildred “Millie” (Regner) Marty, 95, of Marshfield was welcomed into God’s arms on Saturday, February 5, 2022 with loving family by her side.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Douglas Robertson officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral services. Interment will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Hewitt. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Millie was born on December 11, 1926 to Casper and Mary (Neuman) Regner in the Town of Marshfield. As a child, she helped with farming and even stayed home one year of high school to help on the farm since her older brothers were serving in the war effort. She graduated from Marshfield Senior High in 1945. When her mother died, she moved in with the Willy & Ann Maurer family. She  became a very special aunt to her nieces and nephews. The weekends hold such fond memories of eating ice cream bars, getting our hair put in rollers for church, bowling and going to Clover Cream for treats. She worked as a secretary for Maurer Roofing for many years. Millie had excellent secretarial skills which greatly benefited the company. She married Henry Marty on January 15, 1966 and helped run Marty Farms in Rangeline until they moved to Marshfield in 2002.

Millie was an ambitious and giving woman who believed in doing for others before herself. Her ministry of giving was exemplified by receiving the “Circle of Excellence Award” from Ministry Health Care. She donated over 20,000 hours of sewing for St. Joseph’s Hospital. She sewed teddy bear gowns, ice bags and walker bags. If you have a walker bag, chances are Millie sewed it. She also sewed for St. Vincent de Paul for over 40 years. She enjoyed “keeping everyone in stitches.” Millie also enjoyed roller skating, bowling, leather tooling and gardening. We called her our “Garden Angel.” She loved playing Scrabble; her final word would have been the score of her lifetime… H-E-A-V-E-N.

She is survived by her brother Ken (Arlene) Regner of Marshfield; nieces and nephews Ron (Ellen) Maurer, Dan (Kathy) Maurer, Nancy (Gordy) Earll, Kathy Scheuer, Rita Hanneman (Bob Weber), Sara (Randy) Henrichs all of Marshfield, Jane (Gary) Skaya of Stratford, Mary (Bill) Scheuer of Greendale and many great & grand nieces and nephews.

Millie was preceded in death by her parents, Casper & Mary Regner; her husband, Henry (Hank) Marty; sisters, Louise Angelroth, Ann Maurer; brothers, Richard, Norbert (Bud), Edward, Alfred (Fritz), and Felix.

Memorials can be designated to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church or Saint Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.

The family would like to express appreciation to Stoney River Assisted Living and Heartland Hospice.
