Nancy Lee (Frankwick) O’Brien

Nancy Lee (Frankwick) O’Brien, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at Three Oaks Health Services, In Marshfield after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Services will take place at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, Tuesday August 8, 2023 at 11 am with visitation from 9 am to service time with Father Dan Thelen officiating.  Burial will be in the McMillan Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Nancy was the first born of Claude and Agnes (Bell) Frankwick in Marshfield, WI on January 22, 1944 while her father was away at war.  She was united in marriage to Wayne D. O’Brien on June 8, 1964 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Marshfield.

Nancy worked at Weinbrenner Shoe Factory for over 40 years, retiring in 2007. Wayne and Nancy enjoyed many trips, especially to Las Vegas, NV over the years.  She suffered with her memory loss for the past few years with her husband Wayne as her caretaker up until this past spring when she moved to Three Oaks.

She is survived by her husband Wayne and her children Lisa (Scott) Wagner and Wayne T. O’Brien, Jr. (Irene) all of Marshfield.  Her grandchildren Grant O’Brien, Alec Wagner, Paige O’Brien, and Abby Wagner and one great grandchild Banks O’Brien.  She is further survived by her siblings brothers Jim Frankwick, Charles (Cindy) Frankwick, Jerry Frankwick, Glen (Jane) Frankwick and sisters Marge (Gary) Franz, Mary (Fred) Sternweis, Donna (Mike) Hoover, and Carol (Michelle) Frankwick and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Kap Rueth, Jewell O’Brien, Ron (Kay) O’Brien, Pat (Bill) Lindner, and Becky O’Brien and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws James and Lila O’Brien, her brother Paul Frankwick, and her brothers and sister-in-law Herb Rueth, Jim (Patricia) O’Brien, and Dick O’Brien.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Three Oaks for their compassionate care these past months.
