Natalie R. Wienke, 88, Rosholt, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
A private service will be held at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield and burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Marshfield.
Natalie was born on December 25, 1932 in Waukegan, Illinois to Salvatore “Joseph” and Giovianna (Salmeri) Palazzo. She graduated from Waukegan Township High School in 1950 and worked as an X-Ray Aid and secretary at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan and Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago, IL. She married Gerald W. Wienke on September 10, 1955 in Waukegan. He died on August 11, 1996.
Natalie was a loving mom, wife, and homemaker. She devoted her life to caring for other people and was truly one of the most selfless people. She loved to have people visit her, was an avid Scrabble player, had a wit about her that would make you laugh. Her grandkids absolutely adored her. As a devoted Christian, the Lord was her life.
She is survived, loved, and adored by her children, Judy (Steven) Paulson of Brodhead, David (Mercy) Wienke of Stevens Point, Michael (Emily) Wienke of Columbia, MO, Steven Wienke of Rosholt, and Kathi (Steven) Meek of Marshfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dave (Carrie) Wienke, Ryan (Lindsey) Meek, Hannah Wienke, Kaleigh (Ryan) Kiernan, Kyle (Grethel Perez) Meek, Gina (Chris) Kundert, Cristopher Paulson, and and great grandchildren, Maddison, Allissa, Jacob, and Conner. She is further survived by her sister, Stephanie Smith of Texas, brother, Antonio “Tony” Palazzo of California, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, in-laws, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gerald, sister, Jennie Rizzio, 2 sisters in infancy, a special aunt, Josephine Palazzo, and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
The family would like to thank the ICU staff at Aspirus Ascension St. Michael’s Hospital for their loving and compassionate care.
Due to cemetery decoration limitations, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the family.
