Obituary for Norma Topping

Norma Rae (House) Topping, age 73, of Vesper, began her walk with the creator on Tuesday morning June 14, 2022. Norma passed away without pain at the Marshfield Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at Buchanan/Rembs Funeral Home, Pittsville, where the visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Gary Markworth will officiate. The service will be live streamed at

www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will be in Dexterville Cemetery, Town of Dexter, Wood County. Her celebration feast will be held at Chakh-Hah-Chee Community Center in Nekoosa, WI after the burial.

Norma was born on November 7, 1948 in Milwaukee, WI, the only daughter of LaVerna and Reynold House, who also had seven sons, Leon, Tom, Mike, Rick, Kevin, John and David. She attended high school in Milwaukee and Milwaukee Area Technical College where she earned her degree in Data Entry. Norma met her husband Daniel Topping in Milwaukee, and they were married on July 31, 1976. Norma worked at the Milwaukee Indian Health Board for many years before dedicating her life to her family as a stay at home mom.

Norma has three children, Becky Henzig, Daniel, Jr. and Andrew. She was a devoted, loving and fun mother. Norma has five grandchildren by Becky (Nicholas) Bukouras, Lukas and Amy and by Andrew (Heidi), Andrew, Jr. “AJ”, Nyah and Dakota Topping. She was also lucky enough to have two more grandchildren added to her life through Becky (Jeff) Henzig, Jessica and Nicholas Henzig.

Norma loved to spend time with her grandchildren, having sleepovers, watching Scooby-Doo and playing Legos. She loved to play BINGO and was usually lucky enough at the casino, which she called “going to work.” She was an avid reader of Agatha Christie and Nero Wolfe novels, as well as a crossword puzzle enthusiast.

Norma is lovingly survived by her husband Daniel Topping, Sr., and children, Becky (Jeff) Henzig of Milwaukee, Daniel Topping, Jr. of Vesper and Andrew (Heidi) Topping of central WI and grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas, Lukas, Amy, Andrew, Jr., Nyah and Dakota. She is also survived by brothers, Leon (Carol) House, Mike (Colleen) House, John (Linda) House, Rick (Elaine) House, David (Karen) House, all in the Milwaukee area.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Tom and Kevin House.
