Paul H. Mechler, 91, Marshfield, died on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at House of the Dove, Marshfield.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 11:00 am until service time. Rev. Keith Kitzhaber will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home following the service by the American Legion Post 54.
Paul was born on January 24, 1930 in Marshfield, to Edward and Estelle (Tice) Mechler. He attended Sacred Heart Parochial School and was a 1948 graduate of Marshfield Senior High School. As a young man Paul’s first job was working as a pin setter for bowlers at Sacred Heart Catholic School and Hub City Lanes from 8th grade until 12th grade. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from September 8, 1949 until November 29, 1952. After his honorable discharge he attended and was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison. After his education he was employed at Northern Auto in Marshfield for 11 years. He then began his own business, Paul Mechler C.P.A. which he operated from 1970 until his retirement in 2005.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799 and the American Legion Post 54 of Marshfield. He enjoyed golfing and bowling.
Paul is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents and brothers and sisters, Richard Mechler, James Mechler, Ruth Mroz, Marjorie Koller and Jack Mechler.
Memorials may be designated in Paul’s name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
