Richard “Dick” J. Larsen, 88, Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Three Oaks Health Services, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield with visitation from 9:30 am until the time of service. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow at McMillan Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Town of McMillan, Marathon County where military rites will be conducted by VFW Mueller-Hintz Post #1866, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Richard was born on August 15, 1936 in Green Bay to Wilfred and Emily (Miller) Larsen. He attended St. Patrick’s grade school and Central Catholic High School in Green Bay, graduated from St. Norbert’s College in DePere with a B.S. in Economics, and commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. He received his master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Superior in secondary education.

Richard served 6 months active duty in Quartermaster Corps at Ft. Lee, Virginia and 7 ½ years in Army reserve. After 6 months duty in the Army, he received his first teaching job at White Lake High School where he met his wife, Lucille Jagla, who was the secretary at the school. They were united in marriage on August 24, 1964. He retired from teaching in his early 60s and then did part time painting in the Stratford and Marshfield area. He believed in taking care of his family. He re-married his 2nd wife Lucille Ortner in April 2015.

He is survived by his children, Bill (Traci) Larsen of Cottage Grove, MN, Bob (Michelle) Larsen of Marshfield, Brother Joseph “Brian” Larsen of Boyd, and Lisa (Kevin) Domine of Florida. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Michaela (Conrad) Wood, Dylan (Aubrey) Larsen, Will Kaiser, Austin (Katlynn) Kaiser, Zachary Larsen, Anna-Marie Larsen, and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wives.
