Richard Lee Sherwood, 69, of Plover, passed away at Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ric was born May 4, 1955 in Marshfield to Roland and Mary Sherwood.
Ric graduated from Pittsville High School and pursued his love of music while playing keyboard in local cover bands, while using his handy-man skills to fill odd jobs and keeping his Mopar Muscle Cars spotless!
Ric married Debra Yach on September 9, 1978 and later divorced in 1992.
Upon marrying Diana DeGand on February 14, 2013, they embarked on a painting business until Diana’s untimely death.
Ric loved animals and had many pets throughout his lifetime including his chihuahua M.J. who stole his heart. She’s now with Marc and Holly and spoiled rotten!
Ric also had a very witty sense of humor and loved to make people laugh!
Ric was preceded in death by his wife Diana, sister Kathleen, parents Roland and Mary Sherwood, grandparent Shirley and Eva Werner and Vern and Lettie Sherwood, aunt Lorraine, and uncles Don Sherwood and Kenneth (Betty) Sherwood.
Ric is survived by his brother Marc (Holly) Sherwood of Kronenwetter and nephew Cole Seymour. Also surviving is his nephew Nicholas (Tiffany) and great nephews Rowan and Skylar Sherwood of Rochester, MN.
He’s survived by his niece Erin Holly, great nephew Brady, and great niece Natalie Bolstad of Hudson, WI.
Ric is also lovingly survived by his aunt Betty (Kenneth) Sherwood of Pittsville and brother in law Ralph (Kathleen) Holly of Reedsburg, whom Ric was very fond of.
A celebration of life will be held with close family and friends at a later date.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to a respective animal shelter / humane society of the donor’s choice.
