Rita was born on September 18, 1930 to Nicholas and Clara (Marzinski) Ruplinger at home on the outskirts of Marathon, Wisconsin. Rita was raised on the family farm and attended school in Marathon. Rita married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Imhoff, on November 13, 1948 in Marathon, Wisconsin. Together they began their life together on a farm prior to owning and operating the Sheri-land Ballroom from 1961-1970. Upon selling the ballroom, they moved to Marshfield and worked at Weyerhaeuser until their retirement. Rita loved to sew, crochet, cook meals from scratch, and canning her garden harvests. She had an incredible green thumb and could make anything grow. Their house was full of plants year-round and she loved selling her homemade goods at her yearly garage sales. In retirement Bob and Rita loved to travel and go on bus trips across the country. She loved her weekly trips to casinos in the area and could always be seen sitting in the front seat of the bus. Rita was an active member of the PCCW. She loved spending time with her great-grandchildren and visiting them in Minnesota.

Rita is lovingly survived by her only son, Gary (Cheryl) Imhoff, Marshfield, Wisconsin, her only grandchild Briana (Dustin), and her beloved great-granddaughters Izola and Helena Whittington, Waltham, Minnesota. She is further survived by her niece Pauline Spurgeon, Missouri, and many nieces and nephews. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, sister Deloris (Florian) Mroczenski, beloved husband Robert, niece Barbra Mroczenski, and grandson Joseph Robert Imhoff in infancy.

The family thanks the McMillian first responders, Marshfield EMS crew, the emergency room staff, ICU staff, hospital floor Nurses and Nursing Assistants, the staff at Compassus Hospice Servies, House of the Dove and Rembs Funeral Home.
