Robert “Bob” Elmo Aschenbrenner, 82, of Stratford, died November 15, 2024, at Stoney River Memory Care, Marshfield.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, November 22, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford, with Rev. Amy Heinz officiating. Burial will take place in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Stratford, where military rights will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6352 of Stratford. The visitation will be held from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford on Thursday, November 21st and Friday from 9:00 am until time of service. Family invites all to join them at The Cellar Sports Bar and Grill in Stratford after the Thursday visitation until 10:00 pm to engage in remembering Bob the way he would have wanted. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Bob was born on January 30, 1942, in Auburndale, to Robert L. and Lovilia A. (Kroh) Aschenbrenner. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Columbus Catholic High School. After graduating, he served in the Navy from 1960 – 1962.
He was united in marriage to Beverly Jean Winistorfer on May 14, 1966, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield. Their married life together started in Rockford, IL where they resided for two and a half years. After this they relocated back to Stratford where they had lived for the remainder of their time together. Bob spent the majority of his working years as a part-owner of B&K Builders in Marshfield.
Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Bob’s hobbies included attending local auto racing, hockey and Stratford sporting events. When visiting, he was always ready to offer a drink, cheese curds, a bowl of ice cream and a warm hug. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church.
Bob is survived by his 3 sons, Blaine (Kelly) Aschenbrenner, Brent (Julaine) Aschenbrenner, all of Stratford, Brandon (Jordan) Aschenbrenner of Wausau; 4 grandchildren, Amanda Aschenbrenner (Joey Burger) of Arpin, Laura “Luka” Aschenbrenner of Lafayette, Indiana, Trygve and Ashlyn Aschenbrenner of Stratford; 2 great-grandchildren, Zakariah Aschenbrenner and Margaret Jean Burger both of Arpin; siblings, JoAnn (James) Bornbach of Marathon; Kenneth (Nancy) Aschenbrenner of Marshfield and Gary (Bonny) Aschenbrenner of Stratford. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister Joyce and brother Roger.
