Robert J. Radtke, 88, Marshfield, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at
House of the Dove in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield with Fr. Barry Saylor officiating. Serving as
pallbearers will be Bob’s grandsons Nathan, Benjamin, Michael, Jacob, William,
Matthew and Kenny. Interment will be at a later date at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until service time at the church, with a Knights of
Columbus Rosary begins at 9:00.
Bob was born August 9, 1934 to Joseph and Cecilia (Kubisiak) Radtke. He attended
grade school at Sacred Heart School, high school at Campion in Prairie du Chien and
finished his formal education at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. He served
as an officer in the United States Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana. He was united in
marriage to Phyllis Ruder on June 19, 1957 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Marshfield.
Phyllis passed away September 3, 1989. Bob married Joan Craft on December 26,
1994.
He joined his father and brother at the Radtke Insurance Agency, where he worked until
his retirement. In his retirement, he found the joy of working with wood, hand carving
wood spirits and unique bowls. He enjoyed starting his day with morning mass
followed by coffee with his friends at Melody Gardens. Bob and Joan enjoyed summer
days on the water in the boat he named ‘Hi Pa’.
Bob was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council
#1799, Kiwanis Club and Elks Lodge #665. He was also an avid blood donor, giving
over 25 gallons in his lifetime.
He is survived by his second wife Joan, sons Steven (Gail) Radtke of Marshfield, Mark
(Patricia) Radtke of Suring, WI, Roger of Houston, TX, Philip (Carolyn Copenheaver) of
Blacksburg, VA, daughter in-law Sonia Rojas Radtke of Dillon, CO, grandchildren
Nathan (Jaime), Benjamin (Lauren), Kristen (Jeffery), Michael (Margaret), Jacob, William,
Emily, Matthew and Kenny, and great-grandchildren Isaac, Lainey and Layton. He is
also survived by his brother James of Bayfield, WI. He is preceded in death by his
parents Joseph and Cecilia, first wife Phyllis, and youngest son Daniel.

Living, Marshfield Area Respite Care Center and House of the Dove for their
compassionate and loving care.
