Rodney F. Dupee, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, October 23, 2023, at his home in the Town of Richfield, Wood County.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield, where military rites will be conducted. Grandchildren and immediate family members will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday and from 10:00 am until service time on Friday at Rembs Funeral Home.
Rodney “Shorty” was born on November 13, 1946, in Pittsville, to Everett and Doris (Meyer) Dupee and was a graduate of Auburndale High School. After his education he served in the United States Army during Vietnam from November 1965 until his honorable discharge in November 1971. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
He married Vicki L. Schlafke on April 4, 1970.
Rodney was employed in construction with the Laborers Union Local 268 and also an entrepreneur, operating his own businesses in small engine repair and furniture. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed trapping, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed trips to the casino. Most of all he took great pride in his family and enjoyed family get-togethers. He especially loved his grandchildren and giving them gator rides.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Vicki and their children, Tim Dupee (Laurel Wienkers) of Arpin, Lisa (Chuck) Guden of Marshfield, Brenda (Austin) Allen of Mosinee and Phillip (Amber) Dupee of Arpin and eight grandchildren, Nicole (Brandon) Culpepper, Amber (Jacob) Rabehl, Allyson Guden (Jesse Fowler), Zackary Allen, Kelsey Allen (Ben Harris), Kyle Allen, Tanner Dupee and Audrianna Dupee and a great grandson Charlie Culpepper and another great grandson from Amber and Jacob is expected in March. He is further survived by brothers, Jon (Karen) Dupee, Sr. of Arpin, Dennis (Sue) Dupee of Pittsville, Michael (Shirley) Dupee, Brian (Nancy) Dupee, Kevin (Karla) Dupee all of Arpin, a sister, Emily Puls of Arpin, sisters-in-law, Jencie Dupee of Florida and Sue Dupee of Pittsville.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers, Everett Dupee, Jr. David Dupee, Richard Dupee, Sr. and Eddie Dupee, a sister, OraLee Steczynski and a brother-in-law, Greg Puls, two nephews and two nieces.
