Ronald was born on November 22, 1933, in St. Anna, WI to Lester and Florence (Voelker) Wiskerchen. The family moved to Auburndale, WI in 1935 and Ronald spent his early years attending school at St. Mary’s Catholic School while helping the family operate the Cloverleaf Cheese Factory. Ronald graduated in 1952 from Auburndale High School. Uncle Sam came calling in 1956 and Ronald served two years in the U.S. Army trained as a court reporter in the Office of the Staff Judge Advocate, U.S. Army Infantry Center, Fort Benning, GA. He married Joyce M. Gotz on October 31, 1959, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Auburndale, WI.

Ron was a lifelong cheesemaker. He and his brother Lester, Jr., owned and operated the Wiskerchen Bros. Cheese Factory from 1959-1987, and owned and operated Wiskerchen Cheese Inc. from 1987-1997. Full retirement from cheesemaking in 1997 provided more time for Ron and Joyce to spend winters at their home in Scottsdale, AZ along with many other “snowbirds” from the Marshfield area. An avid bowler, he bowled on teams in both the Elk’s League and the Knights of Columbus League. Ron also relished time spent with family on weekends, first at their cottage on the Big Eau Pleine Reservoir and since 1990 at the family cottage on Mead Lake. Sunday evening meals from the grill were a cherished family tradition.

Ron was a life member of the Central Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, a parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen Council #1799, and the Elks Lodge #665 of Marshfield, and a 24-year M & I Bank Board member.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce, of Marshfield, his children, Judy (Thad) Edwards of Pensacola, FL, Thomas (Chris) Wiskerchen of Scottsdale, AZ, Nancy Wiskerchen of Marshfield, Kathy (Joe) Burnett of Spencer, John (Lorri Prince) Wiskerchen of Stevens Point, and Jay (Brooke Bailey) of Los Angeles. Ron is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Christopher, Ben, Anna, Jaynie, Laura, Wyatt, Jack, Erica, Jordan, Sam, and Grace. Ron is further survived by one sister, Loyola (Donald) Wallner of Blenker. Brother, dad, and grandpa will be greatly missed by everyone.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Lester, Jr., Jim, and Edward Wiskerchen.

Memorials may be designated in his name to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church or to the Columbus Catholic Schools in Marshfield.
