Rosella M. Specht, 96, of Marshfield and Auburndale, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, December 6, 2024.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, December 13, 2024 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield with Rev. Dan Thelen officiating. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Rose was born July 25, 1928 to Peter and Katherine (Haffenbredl) Beaver of Loyal, Wi. Rose and her 2 siblings were orphaned when she was 3 and raised by her maternal grandparents Benedict and Abina Haffenbredl in rural Auburndale. She married Norbert Specht in 1948 and they lived in Marshfield where they had 10 children. Rose was a homemaker, an excellent baker and preserved the bounty of their garden to add to winter meals. For many years she worked seasonally at Figis to ensure there were presents for all under the tree. She and Norbert greatly enjoyed weekends at their cabin near Phillips and in 1987 were able to buy a family farmhouse with some acreage across the road from where Rose grew up and had their dream garden and enjoyed rural Life.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Nancy) of Wausau, Janice (Joseph) Zettel of Hartford, Sally (Elmer) Hoffman of Grafton, Bob (Gayle) of Spencer, John (Kathy) of Marshfield, Roseanne of Spencer, Steve (Jalaine) of Chili, Mary (Randy) Beck of Weston, Jim of Stratford and Daniel Sr. (Heidi) of Auburndale. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and a brother, Peter (Anette) Beaver of Milladore.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Norbert, her parents, her sister Jane and her daughter in law Sandy.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Compassus Hospice Care and the caregivers, staff and residents at Stoney River Assisted Living as well as House of the Dove.
