Steve Nicholas Bakos, age 66, of Spencer Wisconsin passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, January 28, 2020. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Faith Fellowship Church, 217 West McMillan St., Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Pastor Larry Sheahan will be officiating. The family will receive visitors starting at 10 AM. Following the service, the family wishes to invite everyone to a luncheon at the church.
Steve was born December 6, 1953, the son of Frank and Rose (Lerch) Bakos in Szekszard Hungary. He graduated from John Marshall High School in Milwaukee. Steve served in the Air Force and retired after 17 years. On June 10, 2006 Steve was united in marriage to the love of his life Connie, in Las Vegas Nevada.
In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, watching movies, cooking, and playing with his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife each Saturday morning shopping at A-Z sales in Spencer, and vacationing at Disney where he felt like a kid again. Those that knew Steve best will miss his sense of humor and his fun-loving character. Friends and family will also miss his homemade spaghetti, Hungarian pancakes, and cheesecake, as Steve loved to experiment and try to improve recipes. He loved his family and children with all his heart and will be deeply missed.
Steve is lovingly survived by his wife Connie; children: Steven (Gayle) Bakos of Marshfield, Christopher Bakos of Baraboo, Starr Bakos of Ponchatoula, Stacy (Samuel) Readhead of Slidell, Mary Joseph of Slidell, Holly (Paul) Martin of River Falls; siblings: Betty (Glenn) Berres of Milwaukee, Mary Bakos-Fout of Melbourne Florida, Kathy Schaper of Merrill. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Cayla, Sydney, Amber, Justin, Andrew, Jocelyn, Skye, Aidan, Lena, Laurelai, Amaya, Allyiah, Lincoln; Great grandchild: Lexi.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Rose Bakos.
