Steve J. Schallock, 59, Town of Eau Pleine, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at his home.
A private service will be held at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home in Stratford. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County followed by a gathering of family and friends at Country Aire in Stratford.
Steve was born on May 22, 1964 in Marshfield to James and Rose (Chesmore) Schallock. He graduated from Stratford High School. He married Wendy Ehrike on July 26, 1986 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stratford.
Steve worked as a farmer, cheese maker, and self-employed construction worker. He loved camping, fishing, cutting wood, hunting, and playing Smear with his mother and wife. Steve also enjoyed being around family and friends, UTV and 4-wheeling, and shooting pool.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy, mother, Rose, and brother, Michael (Teresa) Schallock of Stratford. He is further survived by his mother-in-law, Arlene Emon, stepmother-in-law, Lois Ehrike, brothers-in-law, Jeffrey Oertel, Tony (Nicole) Ehrike, and Cory (Lyndsey) Ehrike, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James, brother, John Paul Schallock, and father-in-law, Harold Ehrike.
