Theone D. Neumann, 83, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at House of the Dove.
Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery Columbarium, Marshfield, on Friday, March 1, 2024 at 9:30 am, followed by a visitation held at the First Presbyterian Church, Marshfield, where the family will receive relatives and friends from 10:00 am until service time at 11:00 am. Rev. Dr. Laurie Brubaker Davis will officiate. The service will be streamed online at fpcmarshfield.org/livestream. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Theone was born on June 4, 1940 in Stratford to Clifford and Dorothy (Krause) Wiesman. She graduated from Stratford High School in 1958. She then attended Lakeland College from 1958-1960 and later graduated from UW – Stevens Point in 1978 with a bachelor’s degree in Broad Field Social Science and Education.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth Marlowe Neumann on August 20, 1960 at Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Stratford.
Theone worked as a research interviewer for Marshfield Medical Foundation from 1978-1983 and then as a coordinator of volunteer program and certifier for childcare providers for Wood County Department of Social Services, Marshfield office from 1981 until retirement in 1996.
She was also a former member and president of the Wisconsin Volunteer Coordinator’s Association, member and chair of the planning committee for Wisconsin Volunteer Coordinator’s Training Institute and past member of the Central Wisconsin Association of Volunteer Coordinators, board member of Personal Development Center, charter board member of Soup or Socks, Inc., Literacy Council of Wood County, and Marshfield Area Habitat for Humanity, and served as a member of the Family Selection Committee. She was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marshfield and served as a Sunday school teacher, an elder, and chaired various committees.
Theone enjoyed golf, reading, traveling, spending time at their summer cottage at Tomahawk and winters at their home in Chandler, AZ.
She is survived by her children, Darrell (Kris) Neumann of Chandler, AZ, Daniel Neumann of Edina, MN, and Thomas Neumann of Madison, WI. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tera (Kirsten) Neumann, Ethan (Danielle) Neumann, Kyle (Marisa) Neumann, and Julia (Cory) Halloran-Neumann, and 2 great-grandchildren, Athena and Oliver. She is further survived by her brothers, Dale (Judy) Wiesman of Kimberly and Glen (Kris) Wiesman of Odessa, FL, and brothers-in-law, Harold (Janice) Neumann of Rochester, MN and David (Karen) Neumann of San Angelo, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Dorothy, parents-in-law, Hubert and Rose Neumann, husband, Kenneth, and sister-in-law, Bonnie (Rayford) Neumann.
The family is very appreciative of the wonderful care provided to Theone from the Marshfield Senior Services organization. Also, the family would like to thank the supportive care provided by the staff members of House of the Dove.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the family. These gifts have been designated by the family for First Presbyterian Church in Marshfield, Marshfield Medical Foundation for mental health education and research, and Lakeland University in Sheboygan, WI.
