Vince Voight

Vincent V. Voight, age 64, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, where a gathering for family and friends will be from 9:00 am until service time. Rev. Jason Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Arpin Cemetery and pallbearers will be grandchildren, Carson and Sophia Slattery. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Voight, Olie Voight, James McGuire, Chase Voight, Tyler Voight, Kade Stackman and Jared Stackman.

Vince was born on August 23, 1959, in Wisconsin Rapids, to Roy and Lorrayne (Christensen) Voight and was a 1977 graduate of Auburndale High School. He married Peggy A. Kaiser on August 12, 1978.

Vince had been employed at Weyerhaeuser Company and then at Reigel Plumbing and Heating, both in Marshfield until his retirement.

Vince enjoyed hunting, had a deer farm since 1998, and was a member of Whitetails of Wisconsin. He mentored many youths, coaching various boys and girls sports, including basketball, volleyball, softball and baseball. He served on the Auburndale School Board for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Peggy and their children, Amanda (Jason) Slattery of Virginia MN and Jon Voight of Byron, MN. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Carson and Sophia Slattery. He is further survived by brothers, Victor (Tami) Voight of Mosinee and Virgil (Elaine) Voight of Pittsville, a sister, Brenda (Rick) Bell of Hustler, a brother-in-law, Mark McGuire of Rio and a sister-in-law, Shelly Voight of Port Washington and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Susan Voight and Barbara McGuire and a brother, Vance Voight.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Abbott Northwestern Hospital for their care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in Vince’s name to Auburndale Youth Sports.
