Violet D. Meyer, 86, Marshfield, died on Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at Marshfield Medical Center.
Due to the COVID pandemic, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Violet was born on June 7, 1934, in Bakerville, to Peter and Mary (Eckes) Bell. She was united in marriage to James L. Meyer on October 5, 1955, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Bakerville.
Before her marriage, Vi had been employed in the foodservice department at St. Joseph’s Hospital. After her marriage, she worked at Casa Loma Supper Club as an assistant cook and later was employed at Hillcrest Motel, all in Marshfield. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States.
Violet is survived by her husband of 65 years, James “Jim” Meyer, Sr. and their children, James (Georgia) Meyer, Jr. of Marshfield, David Meyer of Marshfield, Joyce (Tom) Faber of Onalaska, Donald (Edith) Meyer of Marshfield and Daniel (Lori) Meyer of LaCrosse. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, six sisters, and two brothers.
