Violet A. Weiler, 93, Marshfield, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024 at Aster Assisted Living of Marshfield.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of service. Deacon Ray Draeger will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Auburndale.
Violet was born on June 1, 1931 in Sherry to Ignatz and Anna (Altman) Weinfurter. She had 8 sisters and 6 brothers and grew up on a dairy farm. Her parents passed away while Violet was very young. Her older brother became guardian of all her brothers and sisters so everyone would stay together.
Violet went to St. Kilian Catholic School up to the 8th grade. All the kids had to walk to school. After the 8th grade Violet stayed home to help with the housework and chores on the farm.
Violet met her husband Peter Weiler Sr. on the dance floor at Sherry Ballroom. They were married on February 8, 1949 at St. Kilian’s Catholic Church in Blenker. Peter passed away on February 5, 1983. Together they had 11 children – 9 boys and 2 girls.
Violet loved to go bowling, dancing polka, violets and roses, pork with potato dumpling and sauerkraut. She had a vegetable and flower garden.
She is survived by her children, Ron, Paul, Jeff (Amy), Nick, Charlie (Debbie), Rich (Cindy), Sue (Doug) Raab, Mary (Dale) Cuper, 20 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren.
She is further survived by her brother Vernie (Joanie) Weinfurter, sister Evelyn Dobbs, sisters-in-law Shirley Weiler, Sue Weiler and Virginia Becher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Peter Weiler Sr., sons Jerry, Peter and Greg, brothers Carl, Raymond, Sylvester, Hilary and Leo, and sisters Delores (in infancy), Mary Cummings, Rita Kundinger, Virgie See, Helen Capek, Ida Klawikowski and Bernice Schroedl.
