Zachary S. Hirsch, 23, Marshfield, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Faith Fellowship where visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time. Rev. Larry Sheahan will officiate. The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes.
Zachary was born on January 1, 1998, in Marshfield to Steve and Charley (Scholl) Hirsch. He attended Nasonville Elementary School, graduated from Marshfield High School in 2016, and was pursuing computer science at UW-Stevens Point.
Zach was a kind and gentle soul. He enjoyed gaming on his Xbox and computer, playing D&D with his friends and cousins, hunting, fishing, reading, hiking, swimming, and biking. Zachary also loved birds, especially morning doves and his favorite red-winged blackbird, “Gatekeeper.” He also had a passion for animals and will be greatly missed by his cats, Milo, Smoky, and Tado, and dog, Olly.
He is survived by his parents, sisters, Calley (Cole) Hirsch of Marshfield, Tiffany (Mike) Hirsch of Loveland, CO, Stephany (Jeff) Hirsch of Stevens Point, and Dusty (Andrew) Hirsch of Marshfield. He is further survived by his close cousins, Ryley and Ryder, and many other special cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Reinhold and Veronica Hirsch and Robert and Mary Ann Scholl.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Pastor Larry for being so compassionate and caring during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his Zachary’s name to Active Minds (activeminds.org) – a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising mental health awareness among college students, via peer-to-peer dialogue and interaction.
