OnFocus Athlete of the Week Nominees, August 29 – September 4
- Karter Butt, Edgar Football – Butt rushed for 233 yards on 25 carries in Edgar’s 36-0 shutout of Iola-Scandinavia.
- Hunter Lochner, Nekoosa Football – With injuries in the backfield for Nekoosa, Lochner stepped up and turned in a stellar performance. In the Papermakers’ 56-13 crushing of Weyauwega-Fremont, he rushed for 194 yards on 20 carries, had 3 rushing touchdowns, and returned an interception 27 yards for a score. Added to his night were 7 tackles and 2 tackles for a loss.
- Charles Jewell, Auburndale Boys Cross Country – Jewell took first at the Marathon Cross Country Invitational this week.
- Ty Falteisek, Abbotsford Football – In the Falcons’ 42-12 win over Marathon, the senior running back and linebacker filled up the stats sheet. Falteisek ended with 202 yards on 24 carries and 4 touchdowns, along with three two-point conversions. Added to his stat line: 1 interception, 11 tackes, including three for loss, and a reception for 7 yards.
- Trevor Garski, Mosinee Football – Garski turned in a masterful performance in Mosinee’s 47-7 thumping of Hayward. Garski was a perfect 17 of 17 for 316 yards and 6 touchdowns. Garski set the state record for most completions without a miss in the process.
