Athlete of the Week Nominees, Week of January 24 – January 30

- Jordan Denniston, Pittsville Boys Basketball – Denniston netted a rare feat in high school basketball, collecting a triple double in Pittsville’s 78-12 trouncing of Tri-County. Denniston had 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists for the Panthers in the runaway win.
- Avery Ahles, Mosinee Gymnastics – Ahles picked up a complete sweep in Mosinee’s home meet against Rhinelander. Ahles took first in the floor, bars, vault, and beam, and won the All-Around with a score of 32.95.
- Peyton Kuhn, Medford Boys Basketball – Kuhn came into Friday’s game vs Tomahawk 20 points behind Steve Russ’s Career Scoring Record. Kuhn’s 3-pointer early in the second half clinched the record. Medford won the game 77-33
- Kaitlyn Kundinger, Auburndale Girls Basketball – Kundinger came up big for the Eagles in their 59-44 win over Marathon. Kundinger’s 23 points and 11 rebounds led the Eagles to the win. She leads the team with 13.1 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game this season.
- Heavyn Kind, Spencer Girls Basketball – Kind had 22 points, 17 in the second half, as the Rockets downed Gilman 51-48 in a Cloverbelt matchup
