OnFocus Athlete of the Week, October 20 – October 26

• Gavin Esterholm, Phillips Boys Cross Country – Esterholm took first place at the Cadott Division 3 Sectionals on Saturday, finishing 15 seconds ahead of the field. Esterholm leads a Phillips team that is joining sectional champion Rib Lake/Prentice at state.
• Shelby Spata, Columbus Catholic Volleyball – In the Dons’ 3-0 sweep of Athens in the regional final(25-15, 25-16, 32-30) Spata had 17 kills to lead Columbus. Columbus advances to a sectional semifinal, hosting Gilman Thursday evening.
• Logan George, D.C. Everest Football – George stepped up for the Evergreens(#7 seed) in their 50-21 upset win over Hudson(#2 seed) in Level 1, completing 15 of 19 passes for 255 yards and 4 touchdowns. Everest advances to take on #3 seed Madison Memorial on Friday.
• Lindsay Kahn, Medford Girls Cross Country – Kahn punched her ticket to state with a first place finish in sectional action on Saturday at Colby. Kahn competes at the WIAA State Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Wisconsin Rapids.
• Kai Rens, Marshfield Boys Soccer –  The Tigers collected a thrilling 1-1(5-4 shootout) win over Hudson on the road Saturday, advancing to sectionals. Marshfield hosts River Falls Thursday evening in a sectional semifinal.
